Photo Diary: It Feels Like High School All Over Again
Last Saturday, I visited my alma mater to do some alumni officer duties. That was also their high school intramurals day, and like any other sports event everybody was excited for the cheer dance competition. I have not watched any live cheer dance competitions when I started going to college because I'm: a) Too busy b) Too broke or c) Too lazy to watch the UAAP cheer dance competition.
Everything felt like a nostalgia to me upon stepping in the gymnasium, it felt like high school again seeing high spirited students rooting for their respective batches, the nervous dancers waiting for their turn to perform and teachers giving full support to their students. Some 4 years ago, I remember our batch winning two consecutive years in this competition and I was wondering if these kids would top our batches performances. (Of course I'd be a bit biased if I give the answer out publicly so I'd keep it to myself)
(Also, I have not taken great photographs for months now, and I'm so happy that I was able to capture blogworthy shots)
The freshmen kicking it in their military camouflage themed performance.
The sophomores channeling vintage inspired costumes for their performance.
This year's cheerdance champions, the Juniors. They surely nailed their performance in their native barrio-fiesta costumes!
And lastly, the seniors also in a native costume get-up were all smiles in their final high school cheerdance competition.
It felt so good to be back in my alma mater, seeing old and new faces, chatting with my dear high school friends and... some of the school's dabomb[dot]com tasting food.
Wow! Look at that energy these kids has! :D Great photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kisty, I really missed taking photographs! They did give a lot of energy while performing. :D
