5 THINGS FRIDAY [VOL. 02]: MISSING PERSONAL-PHOTO BLOGGING
It was 2 years ago when I started as a personal-photo blogger on Tumblr. That was the time wherein I was always chill, and going out was never a problem for me - I would just grab my DSLR and go to different places around town and take as many pictures as I can. I admit that personal-photo blogging is way more fun for me compared to lifestyle blogging. And then I'm starting to consider on going back to that type of writing and lifestyle would turn into video blogs. A few days ago, I started reading some new amazing personal blogs and it made me miss personal blogging even more. Without further adieu...
THE 5 THINGS I MISS ABOUT PERSONAL-PHOTO BLOGGING:
WRITING FROM THE HEART - it's not that I don't write from the heart with my new style of blogging, it's just that it feels better to write in a freestyle manner without having to worry about your opinions on products, tips, etc. because I'm writing about my life/my day/my experiences that are more personal.
NOT RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS - It's hard to maintain a lifestyle blog when you're not always out there and honestly I always run out of ideas it's either because another lifestyle blogger posts of the same concept or I seldom do lifestyle blog things. Personal-photo blogging gave me loads of stories to tell without being hesitant of posting my content, I could even post something meaningful with just a single paragraph.
TAKING GOOD PHOTOGRAPHS - I used to bring my DSLR around wherever I go, even on normal days when my family goes to the mall and we just do normal weekend stuff. I knew I was good at photography, and stopping for quite sometime turned me into a starter again. It is convenient to download free stock photos, but I like taking my own photographs so as not to see the same photos from different blogs.
SHARING GOOD MOMENTS - It's such a wonderful feeling to share how my day was to my lovely readers, taking them on a tour with me through photographs was one of the most fulfilling things that I did online and receiving feedback on how my readers enjoyed that short photo journey with me was motivating.
CONNECTION - the reason why I don't dwell so much in lifestyle blogging, and do more on life motivation is that I feel like there is something disconnected between me and my blog. I'm going to stop forcing myself into writing stuff that I don't feel any connection with, and start blogging on things that are of my forte.
I don't hate lifestyle blogging and I have nothing against it, but lately I feel like going back to my roots and do what I really loved doing - personal-photo blogging. Have you had blog dilemmas before? Share your thoughts on the comment box below!
