October Thrift Finds: My 3rd Quiapo Adventure
It was the last school day and I decided to go to Manila to look for some sources for our thesis. It was a long month for me and I had this impulsive feeling of going back to Quiapo and look for thrift noteworthy stuff and accessories. It was my 3rd time to go to Quiapo and I'm such a warrior for always going there alone and on busy days where there are crowds of people buying stuff. I'm honestly into buying thrift/tiangge items since I don't earn money yet, I am able to buy myself things that are affordable and of good quality (I did not say great because cheaper buys still wouldn't last that long).
When you go to Quiapo, different streets are famous in selling a category of items like in Villalobos (where I usually go) you'll find a street full of bead/DIY/accessory shops which are all affordable and of good quality. My go to store there is Wellmanson where you can buy almost everything from food to home decor and materials for accessory making - when loombands was still a craze, almost everyone were looking for stocks! Craazy!
In one visit I was able to spend only P477 on 8 items! Here's a breakdown of my latest haul:
NOTEWORTHY BUYS:
- 10 piece set of colored pens for only P145 (mall prices are around P200-P250, you'll save up to at least P50-P100)
- 4 piece bird designed file clips for only P60
- 4 piece set of floral wahi tapes for only P52 (mall prices are P70)
- Coral peach polka-dot washi tape for only P40
ACCESSORIES:
These babies are P45 each, the earrings look pricey but they're hella cheap!
- Silver midi-ring
- Gold midi-ring
- Gold pearl & crystal studded earrings
- Gold musical note crystal studded earrings - my favorite buy so far! It just shows my love for music.
